The Southern area comprises the rest of the Park – from the top of lake Itezhi right down to the South to the bottom entrance gate at Dundumwezi.  For many years access between the North and South of the Park was very poor but the rehabilitation of the “spinal road” running down the West bank of the river (so fully in the Park), as well as the D769 (running through the Game Management Areas) has made a huge difference.  Better communications to Livingstone thanks to road upgrades means that the South is now easily accessible.
